Every Venue has a Story, Here’s Ours…
Originally built around 1905, the barn that houses The Risk served as the first stage stop to the north of the Snake River Canyon. Its storied past adds a layer of intrigue and nostalgia, making it an ideal locale for memorable events.
The barn underwent a significant transformation when it was purchased by the Spanbauer family, who ingeniously repurposed an old church floor to create an upstairs area. This space was used as a dance hall, where the Spanbauer family hosted lively dances every weekend. These gatherings became a beloved tradition, bringing the community together in celebration.
In 1994, the Roth family acquired the land, including the historic barn. In 2000, the Whitmire family moved the barn from its original location, breathing new life into the structure. By 2003, the barn had been revitalized and transformed into The Risk, a versatile venue now known for its rustic charm and welcoming ambiance.
Over the past 22 years, The Risk has been a cherished setting for numerous community and personal events. Today, it primarily serves as a wedding venue, offering couples a unique and picturesque backdrop for their special day. The Risk is a family-owned and operated business, ensuring that every event is infused with personal touches and heartfelt care.
With its historical roots and beautifully rustic setting, The Risk continues to enchant and inspire those who visit. Its long-lasting charm and storied past make it a perfect choice for couples looking to create lasting memories surrounded by history and natural beauty. Whether hosting a wedding, celebration, or community event, The Risk offers an unforgettable experience in the heart of Jerome, Idaho.
